Unending Galaxy 1.1.0.3 Released !

Snap3Unending Galaxy has been updated to v1.1.0.3.

This is the third, and hopefully last, maintenance release of the 1.1.0.x branch. It fixes a couple of errors introduced by last 1.1.0.2 release. Namely a freeze in the factory setup menu and an error message in the trading menu. Sorry about those two errors, they were a side effect of upgrading a major library at the last minute. Also, your automated dock builders shouldn’t try to build stations and factories in foreign territory anymore.

Development of new features and the 1.2 branch will resume this week if no more game breaking bugs are noticed in the following days.

The new version can be found on the download page.

Unending Galaxy 1.1.0.2 Released !

Snap1615Unending Galaxy has been updated to v1.1.0.2.

This second maintenance build fixes a majority of the issues that have be reported on the forums. The way the game loads and unloads has been  reworked. As a result, you should no longer experience problems when loading savegames from a running session. It has also the side effect of reducing the initial loading time. The graphical library has been upgraded too, game menus should feel much more responsive, popups and tool tips should close properly when they are expected to. It may also fix problems for people experiencing graphical glitches. The error message when selling wares to a dock is gone too.

Feature-wise: a self-repair button has been added to your station setup menu. Hostile pirate raiders should no longer give pursuit across the whole galaxy. The “build” button allows you to select where to build your dock instead of assuming you want to buy it at the ship position. Finally, some tweaking has been done to balance ship part production.

All the new versions are available on the download page.
Additional details, including full changelog are available below.

Unending Galaxy 1.1.0.1 Released !

Nilith Warships

magnateUnending Galaxy has been updated to v1.1.0.1.

This new version should fix the various issues encountered with our 1.1 release. The most important one being that the freeze that could occur when changing sector shouldn’t happen anymore. However, if it’s still a thing for you, just disable the “procedural sky” in your graphical settings, you’ll hardly see a difference and it will also improve sector transitions.

This version also add something that has been requested a lot. You can edit settings for multiple ships simultaneously now. To do so, simply select multiple ships and open the Ship Setup menu as usual. Not all options are available, but you can already set the combat and automation settings.

Note that both the basic and deluxe have been updated to 1.101. Both are available on the download page. The full changelog is available below.

Unending Galaxy 1.1 Released !

Snap1Unending Galaxy 1.1 has just been released.

The main features of this new release are the new free camera (allows for RTS style controls) and the ability to build and replace colonies. It also improves the user interface and gameplay with new settings, improved menus and many other smaller changes. Performances have been increased in a noticeable way too with a more constant frame-rate during very long games and quicker game loading and saving operations. Finally this version features around 40 bug fixes. For a complete changelog, please refer to our forums.

As usual, you can buy the latest version from the download section. If you already bought the game, the deluxe edition should be available in your favorite store shortly.

Note that the basic freeware edition has not been updated yet. It should be available in a few days. It will also be the last time the basic edition gets an update.

Unending Galaxy 1.0.0.1 Released

CIhwbnRWgAEiGYo.png largeHey !

First of all, general news about the game. We are on Steam Greenlight now ! Please consider giving the game your vote, that would help a lot. People who already bought the game at another store will receive a free steam key if/when it gets released. I am also currently writing a fairly long article about the future additions planned for the game.

That being said, here is a new version of Unending Galaxy which fixes most of the bugs that have been reported so far. This new version is both mod and savegame compatible with 1.0. Both the deluxe and the basic editions have been updated. As usual, if you bought the game in a store, download the updated package, otherwise your download key should work as usual.

Notes and changelog are in the full article.

Unending Galaxy [Beta 5] Released !

rtitle04The final beta version of Unending Galaxy has just been released. Beta 4 was supposed to be the last, but recent breakthroughs in the game’ stability and performances require one last large scale beta test before the 1.0 release. As usual, if you bought the game through itch.io or via a direct donation, your key should work perfectly fine.

The major improvements are:

  • 2 new factions with their own ships, weaponry and docks
  • Heavily improved game stability and performances
  • Improved combat systems
  • Rebalanced prices and game’s pacing
  • Better user interface (so, much, better)

There’s also 160 other changes and bug fixes. However, the procedural map generation discussed a few days ago has been disabled as it’s not ready for prime time yet. But don’t worry, barring any other large issue, the 1.0 is just around the corner. For once, I am not going to write a full article and let the beta do the talking instead. 🙂

Note : While it’s a very large update, the only reason why the beta 5 has been released is to test the stability improvements. If you experienced crashes in the past, it’s probably a good time to give the game another chance.
