This is, most likely, the final update for Unending Galaxy. It contains a potential fix for the “sound degradation over time” bug some of you are experiencing alongside multiple improvements and fixes. As usual, mods and saves from previous versions are compatible.
With After The Collapse being actively developed, it’s not possible for us to spend lot of time on Unending Galaxy. But, due to popular demand and because it’s still our first passion project, I decided to allocate some more time to fix the few remaining issues and clean up the code a bit. To that effect we released an experimental build on Steam. If you want to try this new experimental build, please check this topic, it contains everything you need to know.
Once we’re done testing that build, it will, of course, be released on itch.io too.
We just updated Unending Galaxy to version 220.127.116.11.
This version features a brand new map, Unruly Galaxy where factions can only control solar systems and strategic crossroads. I also reduced the diplomatic modifier for being at peace and added a diplomatic incident random event to shake things a bit between the various major factions. Performance have been slightly improved thanks to a much faster path-finding algorithm, while civilian miners will regulate their population based on the amount of available asteroids. As usual, Unending Galaxy is available on Steam and itch.io.

Hi there, been a while.
This post is going to be fairly long. I will talk about Unending Galaxy, the recent changes to Steam’s review system and Greenlight and how they impact my studio. Finally we’re going to talk a bit about the game I am currently working on. I also hope you’re enjoying the new website design. It’s still a work in progress, be sure to tell me if there’s something amiss.
We have just released Unending Galaxy 1.3. This is a major release finalizing Steam integration with the addition of achievements, Steam Cloud saving, and more importantly, the Steam Workshop support (thanks to Alex). It also feature many smaller improvements and bug fixes. We also significantly updated the wiki.
Yes, it has been a long time since the last post and update. I should apologize for that. I had to take some time off after spending 2 consecutive years on the same project. And, I also started to work on other projects in parallel, but it’s a bit early to start talking about those in depth. That being said, Unending Galaxy 1.3 will be released in a few weeks. Here is Unending Galaxy‘s post-mortem! The game still sells relatively well given the niche market I was targeting in the first place, but I think this can be an interesting read to any solo developer tempted to make and publish a game. Also, I haven’t posted something interesting here in a while.
I’ll also publish posts about future projects, and what’s in store for Unending Galaxy in the following days.
