With the 0.6 branch nearly complete, I think it’s a great time to talk about our next 0.7 branch 🙂
As usual with those road-map type posts, everything I write here is to be taken with a grain of salt. The general goal will stay the same, but the implementation details may vary. I may delay some of it, I might add completely unrelated things, and so on. Also, do not forget that the following post explains what 0.7.x will look like at the end of that cycle, 0.7.0 itself will just pave the way for those features to be included. And as usual, I’m skipping the usual “raw content” (more stuff to build), UI improvements and bug fixes.
My apologies, it has been difficult to find time to post here on top of Steam, itch.io, and other mediums. I’ll try to get back to the monthly schedule. In any case, this is a perfect time for a progress report: our 0.5 branch is close to completion and we’ll soon be starting to work on the 0.6 branch. This gives me the opportunity to explain what’s coming next for After The Collapse. However, before we get into the progress report proper, I have a few website related announcements to make.
As you may have noticed, I have been relatively quiet in the past few months. It’s no secret I have been coding in the meantime on a second game. It’s now in a shape allowing me to start talking about it in more details and resume writing devlogs. This game, which has yet to be named, is a colony management game. I will detail my goals, progress and distribution plans in this first devlog. No screenshot or video yet, sorry. 🙂
